Macmillan Cancer Support
True Shine Windows are donating a voucher to Kelvedon Labour Club as their contribution to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The draw will be taking place on Friday 30 September. The voucher will enable the winner to have a cash value discount towards a window or conservatory clean and it is valid until 30 September 2012. Good luck to all those taking part.
Summer revisited!
Following a fairly dire summer we now have superb weather and lots of sunshine. Everyone’s making the best of it and the roads are busy with people journeying to beaches and country parks.

It seems that the weather conditions recently have been ideal for our spiders and their population – they seem to be weaving their webs in every nook and cranny – including your window frames, front doors, and conservatories.

High on the list of recommendations to reduce your electricity costs are keeping your windows and skylights clean and clear.
To minimise artificial lighting keep curtains and blinds pulled back, avoid net curtains, or if you feel that you need them for privacy, keep them spotlessly clean and dust free.
It is also suggested that keeping window sills clear of ornaments and pictures, and decorating your rooms in light, airy colours will help.
This advice may be especially helpful for businesses and offices where staff need good lighting in order to work efficiently throughout the day.

There’s nothing like the summer harvest for leaving residue on your windows!!
